Fix PDF Exploit On iPhone, iPad Without Updating To iOS 4.0.2 Or iPad 3.2.2

Apple has just releasediOS 4.0.2 for iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad 3.2.2, thus patching the PDF exploit taken advantage of by JailbreakMe userland jailbreak for iOS 4.0.1 on all iDevices. Stay put on iOS 4.0.1 if you want to keep your jailbreak and unlock on your iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad.

But having the PDF security vulnerability in your Safari browser puts you at the risk of malicious code injected while downloading a PDF file. The Cydia tweak PDF Loading Warner could only warn you when a PDF file was about to be downloaded, so that you can prevent it if it is from an unknown source.

Saurik, the creator of Cydia, has come up with a patch to actually fix the PDF exploit, thus making it completely safe to have a jailbroken iOS 4.0.1 or iPad OS 3.2.1. In order to install this app, first jailbreak iOS 4.0.1, launch Cydia and search for ‘PDF Patch’.
