A final version of Blacksn0w RC2 is now available in Cydia. For the unaware, Blacksn0w is an unlock tool, originally released by Geohot. The original version of Blacksnow has been unable to unlock iPhone 3G/3GS with 3.1.3 firmware on baseband 05.11.07. Recently MSFT Guy has released a fix for this, and another iPhone developer has repackaged Blacksn0w as RC2 by incorporating this fix for iPhone 3.1.3 baseband 05.11.07.

This final version of Blacksn0w RC2 fixes some bugs including WiFi loss, and boot loop issue. In order to install Blacksn0w RC2 Final version (1.0), add http://cydia.pushfix.info as a source in Cydia. After Cydia updates your sources, search for ‘Blacksn0w RC2 Final’, and install the app. This will automatically unlock your iPhone so that you can use any carrier of your choice.

Note that you need to first jailbreak your iPhone 3.1.3. You can use sn0wbreeze (Windows), redsn0w (Windows, Mac OSX) or PwnageTool (Mac OSX). You can also check if your iPhone or iPod Touch is tethered or unlockable using f0recast.
