Unlock iPhone 3G Firmware 4.0 Using Ultrasn0w 0.92

iPhone OS 4.0 was announced by Apple recently, and very soon we have a jailbreak and also an unlock solution for it. However, currently the unlock solution is only available for iPhone 3G (not 3GS), and also only if your bootloader is of version 05.08.

Before you go ahead with the unlocking, you need to first jailbreak iPhone 3G on 4.0 Beta using redsn0w 0.9.5 and then downgrade your iPhone 4.0 baseband using Fuzzyband Downgrader. T-Mobile users should turn off 3G on their devices before going ahead with the unlocking.

Once you are done with the jailbreaking and downgrading, go to Cydia, and add http://repo666.ultrasn0w.com as a source. When Cydia finishes adding the repository, find ‘ultrasn0w’ and install the application. The latest version ultrasn0w 0.92 will automatically unlock your iPhone.

That’s it. You should be now having an unlocked iPhone 3G with 4.0 firmware.
